Challenges in building Billion Users Cloud Applications

October 6-11, 2024 • San Servolo, Venice, Italy

The fall school will teach you about the
challenges of building billion-user systems
and present approaches to address those challenges.

Admitted students are expected to arrive in San Servolo by mid-afternoon on Sunday, October 6th, 2024.

The school will end at lunchtime on Friday, October 11th. Departures can be scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Please note that the "contributo d’accesso" (access fee to Venice) is not active in October 2024 and thus need not be paid.

Format

The class is structured as a 5-days intensive course. Each day, there will be a lecture in the morning followed by a discussion in the afternoon. In addition, students will participate in group exercises on design, paper critiquing, and code writing.

Prerequisites

Each student should bring a computer; any kind (Chromebook, Mac, Windows, etc.) will do.
